Maritime trade container and cargo statistics for September of 2021 have been published by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, General Directorate of Maritime Affairs.
The amount of containers handled at our ports increased by 4 percent compared to September last year and reached 1 million 45 thousand 53 TEUs. Between January and September of 2021, the amount of containers handled at our ports reached 9 million 173 thousand 116 TEU with a 9 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
The amount of cargo handled at our ports, on the other hand, increased by 5.6 percent compared to September last year and was announced as 44 million 926 thousand 950 tons. In the period between January and September of 2021, the amount of cargo announced was 389 million 784 thousand 739 tons with an increase of 6 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
