National Air Defense Capability for the Turkish Navy

The National Vertical Launch Launcher System (MİLDAS) was developed with domestic and national means and successfully passed its first tests. The project, which was carried out by ROKETSAN under the leadership of the Presidency of Defense Industry (SSB), in order to provide the Naval Forces with national air defense capability, has reached the final stage.
After the completion of the land launch tests of the Vertical Launch Launcher System, which will end the foreign dependency in Turkey's naval power, integration studies are continuing into TCG Istanbul, which is one of the MİLGEM Class I frigates. The MİLDAS system, together with the Hisar-D RF missile, is planned to provide air defense capability to the Turkish Naval Forces in the first place, and the integration of MİLDAS with the Trench Blok-1, Atmaca and other national missiles will continue.
Studies continue for these systems, which are used on ships around the world, to be deployed on land in the future and used for base and port protection. After the integration of the HİSAR-D RF missile into the system, Turkey will be among the few countries in the world that use its own national ship, its own launcher and air defense system, which it has designed and produced with its own means. The project, which aims to launch national missiles designed and produced with domestic and national resources from its own launcher system, will eliminate Turkey's foreign dependency in this area.
With the entry of the TCG Istanbul frigate into the system, the MİLDAS project, which is thought to be realized, is aimed to be used together, and all production, design and integration activities are carried out by ROKETSAN under the leadership of the Presidency of Defense Industry.
