'Floating Hotels' at Izmir Port Again

Izmir Port, which was frequently visited by luxury holiday ships until 2016, is getting ready to host 'Floating Hotels' again. Izmir Port, which could not take sailings in cruise tourism after 2016, is expected to become a busy port again in 2022.

According to the data of the Chamber of Shipping (DTO), İzmir Port, which was introduced to cruise tourism for the first time in 2003, was the first to come by 3,000 tourists at that time. In 2012, with the continuing increase every year, it hosted 552,000 tourists. While it was a port of call for luxury holiday ships until 2016, İzmir Port, which was not included in the cruise lists, has already received 49 cruise reservations in the current year.
