 Black Sea's New Trade Center Karasu Port


A total of 1,755 ships berthed at IC İçtaş Sakarya Karasu Port, which was opened and put into service in 2017, reaching a total trade volume of 8.1 million Euros. Karasu Port became one of the most important trade centers of the region.

Karasu Port is a port with an annual capacity of one and a half million tons of bulk cargo and general cargo, and a capacity of 110 thousand Ro-Ro and 500 thousand TEU containers. At the same time, thanks to its modern infrastructure and standards as well as its multi-modal transportation advantage, it stands out as a modern port with high capacity and world standards.
Karasu Port mainly exports vegetables and fruits to industrial zones in Sakarya, Kocaeli, İstanbul, Zonguldak, Bolu, Düzce, and also to Konya, Çankırı, Bilecik, Karabük Eskişehir, Ankara, Kırıkkale provinces and Antalya, Mersin, Adana, Hatay, Çanakkale, Manisa and It has a strategic importance within the provinces of Muğla. Due to its advantageous location, Karasu Port reduces the land and sea traffic load of Istanbul.
Karasu Port has been recorded with 6.75 million tons of cargo since the day it was opened. While the top three export destinations from Karasu Port were Ukraine, USA and Romania, the most exported cargo type was limestone, clinker and coil sheet exports. The top three importing countries through Karasu Port were Russia, Ukraine and Egypt. The most imported products are listed as wheat, corn and soy.
