According to the statistics published by the General Directorate of Maritime Trade, it was announced that 597 cruise ships docked at 12 ports throughout Turkey for the first 8 months of 2022.
With the 597 cruise ships in question, 552 thousand tourists came and 347 thousand of this number consisted of tourists arriving in July and August. Kuşadası Port was the busiest port with 286 cruise ships, while Istanbul Galataport ranked second with 106 ships. A total of 900 cruise ships are expected to arrive by the end of 2022. The targeted number of cruise tourism passengers by the end of this year is expected to be 1.5 million.
