World Record Breaks in Solar Panels

Solar panels are an energy source that is increasing day by day. Silicon, one of the most special elements, has been used in solar panels and solar cells for a long time. Of course, the use of silicone is for many positive purposes. Silicon, which is used to reduce costs, increase durability and increase efficiency, is an important standard of the industry. But as a new solution, perovskite has a much higher efficiency and is in intense competition with silicon.
Currently, different types of solar panels produced from these two materials are used in the industry with great competition. The record in solar cell efficiency in solar panels has been broken. This broken record was achieved by the joint use of silicon and perovskite, the two most used materials. A very high efficiency of over 32 percent has been achieved in silicon and perovskite mixed solar cells specially developed by a team in Berlin.
Thanks to their ability to collect different parts of the solar spectrum
Perovskite/silicon-based solar cells achieve such high efficiency performance in silicon and perovskite mixed solar cells, thanks to their ability to collect different parts of the solar spectrum.
Thanks to the perovskite material, blue light is captured much better, while thanks to the silicon material, it can capture very red and infrared much better. Thanks to the combination of these two materials, a very broad spectrum is captured and the coverage area is greatly increased.
