Times Higher Educatiom Asia (THE ASIA), known as the Oscar of higher education, brought together the most successful Asian Universities. The best universities that made it to the finals among hundreds of applications in the categories that were awarded, explained their policies, strategies and activities with the booths set up and presentations in special sessions. Abdulkadir Gayretli, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Rector Prof. Dr. Burhan Aykaç and Vice Rector for Accreditation and Quality Prof. Dr. Nail Öztaş attended.
 
Commenting on the subject, Prof. Dr. Nail Öztaş said, “It seems that Asian countries are on the upswing in issues such as education, research, internationalization, student support and leadership. China and other east Asian universities have become world leaders. Their commitment, their investment in human resources, research and education is enormous. YÖK President Prof. Dr. The goal of internationalization of Turkish universities, which Yekta Saraç counts as one of the goals of the new YÖK, is a goal that should be pursued diligently and persistently."
 
Stating that the transformations experienced at the point where higher education has reached are very impressive, Öztaş said, “There is an important search for the shape of the universities of the future, from those who run the Mars program, those who use artificial intelligence in student selection, those who abolish classical textbooks and exams, and those who start to issue program diplomas designed by students. The university of the information age will be very different from the university of the industrial age with its design, management, academic staff, students, curriculum, measurement and evaluation methods.
