Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU) announced that the number of programs with international accreditation increased to 63 with the accreditation of the School of Applied Sciences (UBYO) Television Journalism and Programming Department as a result of the evaluations of international independent accreditation institutions.

Providing information about the Department of Television Journalism and Programming and stating that its graduates have the opportunity to work in almost any place where communication takes place, including public and private broadcasting organizations, UBYO Deputy Director Dr. Instructor Member Hilal Kılıç said, "They can work with many titles such as director, journalist, editing director, cameraman, reporter, screenwriter, announcer, editor, research writer and critic."

Stating that the department has a 4-year training program, Kılıç said, “The Department of Television Journalism Programming has a curriculum in which students both increase their theoretical knowledge about the field and have the chance to reinforce the knowledge they have learned by practicing thanks to the applied courses they take. The department aims to train qualified media workers who will work in the field of media in general and television journalism and programming in particular. Students are provided with knowledge and skills in many areas such as “critical media literacy, news gathering and writing techniques, television broadcasting, program writing”.

Providing information about the lecturers in the Department of Television Journalism and Programming, Kılıç said, “In addition to his academic studies, he has work experience in various fields of the media sector. This two-way dimension of the department teachers allows students to have more in-depth knowledge about the department they are studying and the business lines they will work in the future.
