Rapid progress continues in the defense industry. A new news-sharing announcement is made every week. The MİLGEM project, carried out by the Presidency of Defense Industries, is one of the concrete examples of progress in this field. Within the scope of the project, a signing ceremony was held for the construction process of 3 new İSTİF class ships. Speaking at the signing ceremony, Defense Industry President İsmail Demir stated that as of April 10, 2023, TCG ANADOLU, a ship full of unique features, will be delivered, which will be the greatest power of the navy.
Responding to the questions of the press after the ceremony, President of Defense Industries İsmail Demir stated that they plan to complete the integration work of Bayraktar TB3, which is slated to start flights very soon, with TCG ANADOLU within this year.
In the same way, he stated that the TCG Anadolu ship will be used in Hürjet and that this has been planned. It was stated that the work was carried out for the deployment of the Iron Anka-3 SİHA to TCG ANADOLU, but it is at a rather early stage.
Demir said that the work for the TF-2000 Air Defense Warfare Destroyer is continuing at full speed. He stated that TCG ANADOLU, which was designed and manufactured within the scope of the Multi-Purpose Amphibious Assault Ship (LHD) Project, will meet the logistics needs of a minimum battalion of soldiers and will be equipped with the necessary equipment for deployment.
TCG ANADOLU can accommodate 4 mechanized, 2 air-cushioned, and 2 personnel removal vehicles. In addition to all these, there will be aircraft, helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles on board.
The giant ship has a length of 231 meters and a width of 32 meters. With the SİHAs deployed on the ship, it will become one of the biggest power multipliers of our navy and will be a protective armor for the blue homeland.
