Planning for Engines in Domestic Aviation Completed
There is a rapidly growing defense industry in our country. Indigenization in every field is important for future planning. Especially in the defense industry, the aviation sector constitutes an important part.
The use of domestic engines is also a very important factor for our domestically produced aircraft. Projects are created and planning is made by the needs of each area among domestic engines. T.R. The Presidency of Defense Industries shared the roadmap and final reports prepared in this sense with the public, and its details became known.
The report is quite detailed. So much so that a report has been made that includes the historical development processes, technical information about each of the engine parts, and the features of similar foreign engines. There are also advantages and disadvantages of domestically produced engines used in our country. Action plans and recommendations for each of the engines are listed in the list.
National Combat Aircraft (KAAN)
In the program determined for MMU, the development of the turbofan engine with the required thrust will be aimed first. It has the most important part and critical restrictive technology.
Action plan:
With the planning made, the developer and the manufacturer will be selected, the resources will be allocated and the signatures will be signed for the Preliminary Design Phase / Qualification Phase.
A joint approach will be taken with all other necessary engine projects, technologies, and technology center installations for MMU and an ecosystem for gas turbine engines will be established.
Combat Unmanned Aircraft Systems
It is planned to develop turbofan engines with the level of power to be determined for platforms that will need the same thrust, especially for unmanned aircraft systems.
Turbofan engines are subject to critical and restrictive regulations. It will be used for internal supply planning in needed projects and will also have high export potential.
Action plan:
Many engines continue to be developed by TEI. Project activities for turbofan engines capable of producing 6000 lbs of thrust are reviewed and planned regularly.
