For the future of the world, we have started to see increasingly electric, hybrid, hydrogen-fueled, etc. vehicles that will replace all kinds of vehicles with internal combustion engines. In our country, steps in this direction continue to increase. We have begun to see versions of many small and large vehicles that no longer have internal combustion engines. Recently, our first electric car brand, TOGG, has been launched. Now we have started to see electric vehicles not only on the road but also on the railway.
Turkey Rail System Vehicles Industry Inc. (TÜRASAŞ), TÜBİTAK RUTE, and TCDD Transportation, jointly designed and developed, and our country's first domestic and national fully electric Mainline Locomotive E5000 was launched on the rail. A special ceremony was held for this completely domestic locomotive, which was produced in the Eskişehir factory of TÜRASAŞ, for the first departure. The name of the locomotive, which was chosen as E5000 as the nomenclature, was stated as "Eskişehir 5000".
The electric mainline locomotive has a power of 5000 kW and a very good maximum speed of 140 km/h. Produced by European standards, the locomotive also has certifications suitable for use on European Union railways. In this way, there is an important expectation in terms of exports.
The E5000 all-electric mainline locomotive is a vehicle of firsts. The vehicle with a completely domestic vehicle body, the first completely domestic spark plug, and the first train control unit is also the electric locomotive with the most powerful electric motor.
As a result of the planning made for the E5000, it will meet our country's need for 10 years, namely 500 vehicles. The amount of 2 billion Euros to be given as import fee for these locomotives will remain within our structure.
