Temel KOTİL, General Manager of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), made a very important and exciting statement. He stated that there is a very important date update for the project, which is carried out with domestic and national resources. It has been reported that the first flight date for the National Combat Aircraft (MMU) will be moved forward from 2025 to 2023.
In his statement, KOTİL stated that many details in the process planned for the National Combat Aircraft (MMU) have been concluded quite well. Of course, these positive results brought good results. KOTİL “We had originally scheduled the flight in October 2025. We have now dated earlier this flight. It is planned to fly by the end of this year.” With his words, he talked about the planning that was taken forward for almost 2 years. He stated that all the systems to be used on the aircraft are currently in the production phase. He stated in his words that all critical parts were checked one by one. During the controls, it was concluded that there was no problem with the aircraft and everything was proceeding correctly.
It is known that a total of 3000 people, 2000 of which are engineers, work for the National Combat Aircraft (MMU). Engine assembly has already been done for the MMU in the past weeks. The controls of the fuel tank and hydraulic sections for this engine continue at full speed.
If everything goes well after loding fuel in the fuel tanks, the next step will be to start the engine. Of course, with the operation of the engine, there will be long and meticulous test processes.
