Green Hydrogen from the Sea of Marmara
It is clear that the use of energy resources and our energy production methods must change in order for our planet to be sustainable. This is why it continues at full speed in the direction of environmentalist sustainable energy, which is called green energy. When it comes to green energy, sun and wind are the first ones that come to mind. However, interest in green hydrogen has increased considerably in recent years.
Green hydrogen, which is shown as the energy of the future, is perhaps the recipe for salvation for our planet. The European region has a roadmap for green hydrogen energy. In our country, Enerjisa Üretim pays a lot of attention to green hydrogen fuel production and is focused on it.
Under the leadership of the Southern Marmara Development Agency, the big companies of our country, Enerjisa Üretim, Eti Maden, TÜBİTAK MAM and Aspilsan, have created a great platform.
Within this platform, the first green hydrogen production and storage building of our country was put into operation at the Bandırma Energy Base of Enerjisa Üretim. The facility, which has been producing since July 2022, is of great importance for our country.
Green Hydrogen is produced by electrolysis of Marmara Sea water with electricity produced from renewable energy sources.
The company has just started production and uses the green hydrogen it produces in these initial stages for its own needs.
One of the biggest goals is to meet the energy needs of the industrial facilities in Bandırma and its surroundings with green hydrogen. The use of sea water for production also minimizes the damage to drinking water resources.
