Behind-the-Wall Radar System Saved and Continues to Save Dozens of Lives
After two very big earthquakes with a magnitude of 7.7 and 7.6, which took place in the southeast of our country and affected 10 provinces in the Mediterranean, Southeastern and Eastern Anatolia regions very badly, our country is making great efforts to wrap the cliffs. Search and rescue efforts continue at full speed, not only for the healing of wounds, but also for our citizens who are still under the rubble. Defense industry technologies are also used for the search and rescue works that are still going on in many provinces in the earthquakes that took place in Kahramanmaraş and provide a great benefit.
Thanks to our domestic defense industry technologies, many lives have been saved and continue to be saved. Technologies with all their effectiveness provide use in the field.
They have put the technologies developed by our domestic defense industry companies in our country for the Turkish Armed Forces into the field. STM Defense, one of our domestic manufacturers, is one of our manufacturers whose devices are used in the field. Thanks to the Behind the Wall Radar (DAR) system produced by STM, it can detect whether there is a living thing under the debris and determine its location. Thanks to the search and rescue teams' DAR system, more than 20 earthquake victims, who have been under the debris so far, have been reached and they have been removed in a healthy way. It provides support for the use of technicians sent to the region by STM. Thanks to the radar, even people's breathing and finger movements can be detected from meters of debris.
According to the statement made by STM, they reported that they have two teams in the Hatay region. Making a statement on the subject, the official Yusuf Hayirli said, "We witnessed a 7-month-old baby coming out of the wreckage. This happiness is indescribable." said.
