Following these evaluations, the projects that entered the top 3 among 19 projects were determined by the votes of the management team of DHL Express Turkey. In the workshop where the projects designed by the students of the Industrial Design Department were awarded, DHL's airplanes were the inspiration for all the award-winning designs by entering the top three. The lighting design named “Welice” designed by Doğa Çarıkçı using waste bolts and metals was selected for the first place; The project named “Pan Pan”, in which an old street lamp developed by Baran Çulban was converted into a paper waste collection box, was awarded the second place. DHL Express Turkey CEO Mustafa Tonguç underlined that they lead the industry for environmentally friendly logistics and sustainability and said: ’’ We express our business not only as carrying out the transportation services of the shipments, but also as trying to improve the quality of life by bringing people together. In this direction, we place sustainability at the center of our work with the sense of responsibility we feel for the future. We are trying to support projects that serve this purpose by realizing sustainability activities in all areas. Therefore, our cooperation with educational institutions in this sense is very important for us. This workshop, which we organized with Yeditepe University with the inspiration of DHL's designs, is also very valuable in this sense. By leading green logistics, we aim to show that a 'green world is possible' where we coexist with young people and help this way of thinking become established. We will continue to support such projects in the future. I would like to congratulate everyone who contributed to the workshop, especially our students, who impressed us with their designs’’.
