Aydın Erdemir, the new president of the Turkish Port Operators Association (TÜRKLİM), stated that “The uncertainty that has emerged on a global scale with the pandemic has caused major breaks in logistics and trade chains and has deeply shaken global trade”. Continuing his speech, Erdemir emphasized that countries such as the USA, China and the EU have announced billions of dollars of support packages for ports and that Turkey urgently needs to announce support packages that will increase port capacity.
