The Seminar on Automation Technologies in Logistics, which is held every year in cooperation with the Logistics Association LODER and SICK Turkey, was held for the 11th time this year. The seminar with different presentations took place on 14 December. The seminar, which was greeted with interest by the professionals of the logistics industry, was held in Ataşehir, hosted by Istanbul Marriott Hotel Asia.
The opening speeches of the seminar were made by Prof. Dr. Gülçin Büyüközkan and Vice Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. Mehmet Tanyaş and SICK Turkey General Manager Mehmet Kahveci. By using a special application, the guests at the seminar were able to convey their questions to the speakers during the presentations.
In the seminar where different and informative presentations were made, working as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of Galatasaray University together with the Chairman of the LODER Board of Directors, Prof. Dr. Gülçin Büyüközkan made a presentation titled ‘’Meta Logistics and Supply Chain Management’’. With this presentation, Büyüközkan directed the focus of the guests at the seminar to the concept of “meta logistics”. Then, Trendyol Express General Manager Ömer Batu Şengül talked about the company's contributions to the logistics sector with his presentation titled "Behind the Scenes of the Operation". Continuing with the presentation titled "5 Technologies that Accelerate Operations" by SICK Turkey Intralogistics Sales Engineer Merve Günaydın, the last presentation of the first half of the seminar was the presentation titled "Borusan Port is Safe with Sensor Intelligence" by Alper Konuk, Port Maintenance Specialist of Borusan Port. The second half of the seminar started with the presentation of SICK Turkey Traceability and Quality Unit Manager Berk Boyacı titled "Where to Start the Road" and continued with the presentation titled "The Power of Automation in Package Transport" by Fahri Çırak, Assistant General Manager for Business Development at Kargoist. The last presentation of the seminar was made by Turkish Cargo Operations Planning and Projects Manager Mustafa Kemal Özahi. In his presentation titled “Air Cargo Facility-Technology and Automation Applications”, Özahi conveyed information about his facilities and also touched on his automation activities. The seminar ended with the “Homemade Stand-Up” show performed by Comedian Writer Kaan Sekban after the coffee break.
