The Personal Data Protection Board (KVVK) Fines the Hospital that Takes Patient Data Out of the Institution for 600 Thousand Liras
With the decision of the KVVK dated 20/04/2021 and numbered 2021/407, an administrative fine of 600 thousand liras was imposed on a hospital for taking the data of 789 patients out of the institution.
As a result of the examination of the camera footage of a doctor working in a hospital obtaining the files of 789 patients out of the archive and taking them out of the hospital, the KVVK decided to impose an administrative fine of 600 thousand TL on the hospital for data breach. In the decision, it was emphasized that the hospital did not take adequate measures to ensure data security and was defective.
