According to data published on 01.15.2021 by Union of Turkish Bar Associations number of lawyers in Turkey was 143 330 as of 31.12.2020. 55% of the lawyers are men and 45% are women. When its proportioned with the population of Turkey, there is one lawyer for every 580 people. The city with the highest number of lawyers is Istanbul with 51,621 lawyers, followed by Ankara with 19,910.
The increase in the number of lawyers is noteworthy. According to the UTBA's report dated 31/12/2019, the total number of lawyers was 127,691. Accordingly, it is seen that the increase in the number of lawyers corresponds to a high rate of 12%. The number is predicted to increase even more in the future.
