According to the Central Securities Depository's (MKK) data, 2022 was a very productive year for crowdfunding in Turkey.
The data shows that 12,887 investors joined the system in 2022, and the shares of 43 entrepreneurial companies were distributed to investors. The total portfolio value reached 204.23 million Turkish Liras.
Of the 12,887 investors who joined the system in 2022, 99 were institutional investors. Approximately 10.26% of the remaining investors were women, and around 90% were men.
42 of the female investors were between 0 and 20 years old, with a total portfolio value of 190,000 Turkish Liras. 1,038 were between 21 and 40 years old, with a total portfolio value of 5.57 million Turkish Liras, 418 were between 41 and 60 years old, with a total portfolio value of 4.77 million Turkish Liras, and 31 were over 60 years old, with a total portfolio value of 730,000 Turkish Liras.
192 of the male investors were between 0 and 20 years old, with a total portfolio value of 980,000 Turkish Liras. 7,941 were between 21 and 40 years old, with a total portfolio value of 74.36 million Turkish Liras, 3,039 were between 41 and 60 years old, with a total portfolio value of 74.83 million Turkish Liras, and 87 were over 60 years old, with a total portfolio value of 3.88 million Turkish Liras.
According to the data, 75% of the investors were between 18 and 40 years old.
