IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE LAWYER'S STATEMENT BE INCLUDED IN THE MINUTES IN THE POLICE STATEMENT
With the recommendation of the Ombudsman Institution dated 09/07/2021, it was recommended to include lawyers' statements in the statement taken by the law enforcement.
In the statements taken by the police, there were different practices regarding whether the statements of the lawyers would be included in the minutes. In the application made to the ombudsman institution by the President of Şanlıurfa Bar Association Lawyer Rights Center, it was stated that the lawyers faced some problems in this regard. Thereupon, it was reported that the application was accepted with the recommendation decision taken by the ombudsman institution on 09/07/2021, and that lawyers' statements should be included in the law enforcement statements. With the decision, the Ministry of Interior was advised to take the necessary measures in this regard.
