The practice of receiving applications via e-state for the deletion of criminal record (criminal) records started on 18 August 2022. With the application, criminal records of 17 thousand 500 people have been deleted so far.
The application for correction and deletion of criminal records from the state has been made by approximately 160 thousand people so far. The applications of 17,500 of these people were positive. Applications for the application continue to be received via e-government.
Before the e-state application was started, individuals had to apply with a petition to the General Directorate of Criminal Records and Statistics for the deletion of their criminal record. While sending the petition to the General Directorate of Criminal Records and Statistics by mail, the examination process and the control of the results of the examination is a very tiring process, with the new application, people can perform the same process without dealing with any postal and paperwork for the transaction.
Certain conditions must be met in order for the criminal record and archive records to be deleted. Some of the applications for removal from the state are not deleted because they do not meet these conditions. Depending on the types of crime and the severity of the crime, certain deadlines are sought. Since the decisions to postpone the announcement of the verdict are not taken into the criminal record or archive record, there is no need to apply for the deletion of these records. On the other hand, it is possible for individuals to access criminal and archive records via e-government. No application is required for this.
