“Design Trends of 2023 will be Nature Inspired Designs”

Master Architect Can Küccük, the founder of Küccük Architects, which has signed many architectural and interior architectural projects, commented on the design trends that will come to the fore in 2023. Can Küccük stated that we would see the colors and materials found in nature indoors in 2023.

Can Küccük said that we would see blue and green, which are indispensable colors of nature, intensely in the interior spaces of 2023, which he evaluated by considering the residential and working spaces, he added that the use of different tones of wood together would be a priority.
The architect, touching on the concept of "sustainability", which has deeply entered our lives, states that many issues such as the materials used, production conditions and fuel consumption are decisive in this context. He adds that this awareness in material selection will continue in the future and that wood, one of the most useful materials in history, will appear frequently.

One of the design trends we will see in 2023 is “open kitchens”. The architect emphasizes that “the place of women” has also changed in the changing family structure as a result of modernization, and says that with the profile of women, who show their presence in production and are a part of social life, instead of women working at home, gender discrimination in kitchen spaces is eliminated. He suggests that kitchens, which were previously seen as women's workspaces, now allow the household to stay in the living space, regardless of men and women, without breaking away from the social environment.
Modernized living spaces have become even smaller with the effect of urban settlement. However, the function of living spaces had to diversify with the post-pandemic. Can Küccük says that spaces that undertake various functions such as living room/working area, kitchen/living room, bedroom/ironing room are beginning to appear frequently, and that creating mini work niches for those who work from home has become a necessity, and he adds for this reason, we will see a lot of work areas integrated into living spaces in 2023.

In addition to all these, he stated that in 2023, green and blue colors will be seen frequently in crucial points, and emphasized that the quality of the color can be increased by adding golden tones to these colors.
