The first match factory of the Ottoman Empire, which was built by the French during the reign of Abdülhamid II in the 19^thcentury, which was idle in Küçükçekmece, was registered as a 1^st degree historical monument by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 1991 and was taken under protection.
