A new apartment complex will be built in Utrecht, Netherlands, in the near future. However, this new apartment complex is not at all similar to the buildings we encounter today at every step. Those living in these apartments will be able to collect the vegetables grown in the greenhouse on the roof of the building or in the sections placed on the front of their apartments instead of doing grocery shopping online. They will be able to collect raspberries from the forest in the inner garden at the bottom of the building. There will even be a special section for aquaculture in the park area, which is designed to accommodate bicycles rather than cars. Some of the apartments to be completed in 2023 will be sold and some will be rented. Most apartments will serve as public housing for low- or middle-income people and home care for older people. Older people will live in a communal garden and apartments close to the doctors' place.
