The restoration work of the Selimiye Mosque in Edirne that is the masterwork of Mimar Sinan, which is planned to last 40 months, has started. The construction of the mosque, which is one of the important works of the Ottoman Empire, started in 1568 and the work lasted for 7 years. It is aimed that the 446-year-old mosque whose restoration will be carried out by the General Directorate of Foundations will be opened to worship at the end of the 40-month restoration.
