The first and second year students of the Interior Design Program exhibited their practical work in the courses during the semester in the foyer area of the 1st floor of IGMYO between 27-31 December.
The opening of the exhibition was held on Tuesday, December 27 by Director and Member of IGMYO, Honorable İsmail Cem Ay. Our director, who examined the work done, exchanged ideas with the students by talking about their work.
Within the scope of the Color Knowledge course, conducted by Assistant Professor Nuran Öztürk, the Executive Member, the works of the first grade students were also included in the exhibition. In the studies, different paint types such as gouache, marker, acrylic and powder paint were used, and subjects related to material, color and texture were discussed. Color analysis and texture evaluations were the priority of the studies.
Another remarkable student work in the exhibition was studies of the Furniture Design course, which was conducted by Instructor Hülya Algur Marşoğlu. Within the scope of the Furniture Design course, the students presented the furniture they designed and manufactured to everyone. The students first realized their designs on the determined subjects, and after the design process, they were also involved in the manufacturing processes of the furniture for which they prepared their technical drawings. At the end of this event, they had the opportunity to prepare for their professional life by following the manufacturing process.
Interior Design I and Professional Practice I courses, that are the courses of the Interior Design Program, are given by our Program President, Lecturer Selin Rüya Çakır, Lecturer Duygu Ersoy Hocaoğlu and Lecturer Hülya Algur Marşoğlu. They had the opportunity to exhibit 1/20 scale models of the store projects covered in the Professional Practice I course. Store models made on different subjects were appreciated by those who visited the exhibition. Promotional sheets of Interior Design I and Professional Practice I projects were also included in the exhibition. The works of the housing and store projects covered in these courses attracted great attention in our exhibition.
We would like to thank our first and second year students for their beautiful work and our valuable department teachers for their contributions. In addition, we would like to thank our Assistant Professor İsmail Cem Ay, who opened our exhibition.
