Children's Play and Activity Container; MiniKo

Designed by Nehir Özbey İç Mimarlık within the scope of the 'Let's Give the World to Children' project
“MiniKo” was delivered to Hatay and Adıyaman. The activity containers designed for children affected by the disaster as a result of the earthquake in our country were named "Miniko".
It was created by the NOI office within the scope of the "Let's Give the World to Children" social responsibility project to help preschool children get away from the effects of the earthquake, socialize and support their cultural development. The project was prepared with donations from individuals, institutions, and associations, and started its activities by delivering a total of four “MiniKo”s to our provinces of Hatay and Adıyaman. "MiniKo's" provide nursery and play services to children according to the needs of their regions.
The project aims to reduce the psychological effects of the earthquake by supporting the children affected by the earthquake socially and culturally. In addition, to contribute to the development of children by creating equal opportunities.
The entire interior of “MiniKo” is planned as a 21 m² (3m x 7m) game and event. Since there is no wet area indoors, the social area should be located near the support areas. The activity areas are designed for children to socialize, paint, watch movies, read books and play games. The container, which allows many activities to take place, provides more effective use by planning on a timeline.
The NOI design team aims to create a safe, flexible, and interactive space that develops the imagination of children, creating spaces where children can find themselves and socialize in a space away from the effect of containers.
While the space was being designed, it was ensured that the perceptual and cognitive development of the children was supported by taking into account the physical and spiritual development of the children. Laths are placed on the wall surfaces of the space to create functional areas. There are alternative products such as chalkboards, magnetic boards, shelves, game walls, and entrance benches in the lath. Play and movement areas were created by the anthropometric measurements of the children.
Functional and durable furniture is preferred. Striking colors are used on the wall surfaces and fabric choices, and more pastel tones are used on the floors.
