 The Support Premium to be Implemented by the Social Security Institution Has Been Determined


Within the scope of the EYT (Retirement Aged Persons) regulation, a reduction was made in the SGDP (Social Security Support Premium) to be received from these retirees to help businesses retain their trained workforce. As it is known, while the premium rate that employers should pay for retirees was 24.5 percent, this rate was applied as 17.5 percent for non-retired people. With the regulation, the said 24.5% rate will be reduced to 19.5 percent, that is, a five percent discount will be provided. To benefit from this incentive, the person who retires under EYT must start working at the same workplace again within 30 days. If the end of these 30 days coincides with a weekend or public holiday, there will be no time extension.

SGDP is currently taken based on premium income, which varies between the gross minimum wage of 10.008 TRY and 7.5 times this amount, which is 75.060 TRY. Therefore, with this incentive, an advantage will be provided between 500.40 TRY and 3.753 TRY per person per month, depending on the employee's salary. These differences will be paid from the treasury. This application will be valid as long as the employee continues to work in the same workplace. If the employee's resignation notice is given for any reason, even if the employee starts working again at the same workplace, the discount will be invalid and no more discount will be applied.
