 Problems of Employees by Gender During the Pandemic Process


During the Covid-19 process, the problems of employees differed considerably according to gender. According to the “Research on the Effects of the Covid-19 Outbreak for Female Employees” prepared in cooperation with TÜSİAD, TÜRKONFED and the United Nations Women's Unit (UN Women) in Turkey, the main problems experienced by male and female employees during the Covid-19 period differ from each other. According to the results of the research, the problems of female employees; Housework and care responsibilities increased by 99%, increased workload with remote/home working by 97%, and anxiety, psychological stress and burnout by 95%. According to the same research, the problems of male employees are; It has been revealed that there is a wage/income insufficiency at a rate of 74% during the epidemic, limited access to communication and information technologies at a rate of 69%, and psychological stress and burnout at a rate of 65%.
