GENDER INEQUALITY AT WORK
In the Gender Inequality Index, which includes 156 countries, organized by the World Economic Forum for 2021, Turkey went down three more levels compared to the previous year and took the 133rd place.
The categories in the Gender Inequality Index, in which gender inequality is evaluated in four basic groups; participation in the economy and equal opportunity, access to education, health and empowerment in politics. Within the scope of these four classifications, it has been stated that the category in which development is most comfortable for Turkey is “Equal Opportunity with Participation in the Economy”. In addition, the index presents data by comparing the pre-Covid and post-Covid period. In these data shared for before and after Covid, it is seen that there is a situation against women at a rate of -5.2% in Turkey.
