Aid to Citizens whose Houses were Damaged in the Earthquake

It was announced by the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) that 10 thousand TRY per household was paid to citizens whose houses were damaged or destroyed as a result of the earthquakes that occurred on 06 and 07 February 2023. According to the written statement, payments will be made to those residing in damaged or destroyed houses during the earthquake. Who resides in these buildings will be determined from the records of the General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs. Citizens will not need to apply in advance, either via e-government or in person, in order to benefit from this payment.

For the payments, AFAD, the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs, General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre will cooperate and payments will be made by taking into account the residence data obtained over the uncertain damage assessment data.
Thus, citizens whose residence records are up-to-date during earthquakes and who reside in the damaged or destroyed house during earthquakes will be able to receive a payment of 10 thousand TRY without having to do anything.
It is considered that these payments will relieve the wage workers who were exposed to the earthquake while they have not yet received their January salaries, albeit a little.
