The First Sound Installation Exhibition in Istanbul

The giant audio and video exhibition of the American Artist Bill Fontana meets the audience.

In the exhibition entitled "Resounding Io", Io is depicted as a mortal woman, nun and rival of Goddess Hera, wife of Zeus, from the Greek mythology. It is said that Zeus, the god of the sky, rain, lightning, and clouds, fell in love with Io and turned Io into a white ox to protect her from the wrath of his wife, Hera. Then, it is told, Io passed through the Ionian Sea and reached the Bosphorus, which was later given that name because it means ox. This is also where the name of the exhibition comes from. The artist presents the sound of the water in the depths of the Bosphorus to the audience by combining it with the screen images on eight huge screens.
