According to the data announced by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, while the number of museums was 270 in 2004, it increased to 286 in 2008 and to 409 in 2015. Finally, the number of museums in our country, which reached 451 in 2018, increased again in 2020 and reached 494. It is also seen that with the decrease in the number of museum visitors every passing year, there is a transition from actual museums to to virtual ones.
