Many political figures attended the opening of the cultural center, which is one of the landmarks in Turkey. The building, which was built for the first time in 1969 and is the fourth largest art center in the world, was put into service under the name "Istanbul Culture Palace". The construction of the building, which has an audience capacity of over 2,000, was completed in a short period of 2 and a half years. In addition to theater and opera halls, Atatürk Cultural Center includes a music recording studio, multi-purpose hall, gallery, library, children's art center, design shop and Yesilcam Cinema.
