 Minister of Commerce Mehmet Muş Made a Statement on the 2023 Budget of the Ministry of Commerce




Minister of Commerce Mehmet Muş stated that a guarantee of 11.8 billion liras was provided within the scope of 3 thousand 264 applications approved by Export Development Inc. (IGE A.Ş.) and Eximbank provided a loan of 11.3 billion liras. In his speech at the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly on the 2023 budget of his ministry, he said that despite the negative developments in the global economy, the Turkish economy continued to grow by maintaining its focus on production and employment and by exporting its products. all over the world. Stating that the economy showed the highest performance of the last 50 years with a growth of 11.4 percent in 2021, Muş reminded that the contribution of exports of goods and services to this growth increased up to 5.3 points.


Stating that the economy will grow by 3.9 percent in the third quarter of 2022 and that the growth has continued uninterruptedly for the last nine quarters, Muş noted that the contribution of exports to the 6.2 percent growth realized in the first three quarters of 2022 was realized in 2022. Emphasizing that more than half of the high growth was due to exports of goods and services, exports continue to be the locomotive of growth, Muş noted that 1 million new jobs were created compared to January 2022. Muş drew attention to the fact that the manufacturing capacity utilization, which decreased to 61.6 percent due to the pandemic, exceeded the pre-pandemic levels with 75.9 percent as of November, with the strong support of the increase in exports.

Minister Muş underlined that all these developments are an indication that the right steps have been taken to reach the target of Turkey, which supports its production capacity with exports.
