According to the price indices published by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) for May, retail prices in Istanbul increased by 87.35 percent in May compared to the same period of the previous year and by 5.84 percent on a monthly basis. According to the ITO statements, it was the highest increase since 1998.
