In a statement made by Kristalina Georgieva, Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF); It was stated that they were more optimistic about the global recession compared to a short time ago, but still partial and unstable when looking at the global economic recovery around the world. In an interview with the David Rubenstein Show, IMF Kristalina Georgieva also shared her predictions about the recovery in global economies after the Kovid-19 pandemic. David Rubenstein stated that many economists within the IMF are curious about the predictions of the current state of the global economy and asked Georgieva to answer the question of whether there will be a global recession.
In a statement, Georgieva stated that they are optimistic in two respects. He stated that the first issue they were optimistic about was the decisive moves taken by the central banks and financial authorities and that they did and will do their part for the countries with insufficient resources. He stated that the second reason for their optimism is that the world has learned to function during the ongoing pandemic. Despite these optimistic situations, Georgieva emphasized that the recovery was "partial and unstable", adding that while some parts of the economy were in very good shape, others lagged behind. Georgieva stated that her biggest concern is more debt, more deficit, more inequality and a growing climate crisis after the crisis is over, and stated that with widely coordinated incentives, we can have a better post-crisis economy compared to 2019.
