The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry assigned a special team of 266 people from 27 provinces to inspect food warehouses, bakeries and mobile kitchens serving in disaster areas. The teams inspect not only AFAD and Kızılay, but also the aid sent to our citizens affected by the disaster from all over the country.
Established mobile kitchens are inspected in terms of hygiene against food poisoning, and immediate action is taken in line with warnings or complaints from citizens. In addition to 266 personnel, 34 vehicles from 27 provinces were dispatched to the region. Special teams have carried out approximately 1345 food inspections since the day of the disaster. Among these, 189 food warehouses, 706 bread production places, 219 food distribution points and tent cities, 169 food production places (including mobile kitchens), 61 aid trucks were inspected.
Making statements about the activities in the region, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim YUMAKLI pointed out that many philanthropists, together with AFAD and Kızılay, provided food aid to the disaster area and that these aids were constantly inspected in order not to cause any health problems. Yumaklı also stated the following: "Our teams inspect the entire region from the food warehouse established in the region to the bread production areas, from the food distribution points to the mobile kitchens. We are trying to identify and prevent all the negativities that may be harmful to human health. Thankfully, no food-related incidents have occurred so far. We did not detect any poisoning."
