How much water should we drink per day?


We can survive for about 50 days without food consumption, but we can only survive 2-3 days without water consumption. The daily water consumption rate varies depending on factors such as age and metabolism. Our body keeps the water balance in balance with the secretion of the hormone called “vasopressin”. Changing this balance can lead to significant mental and physical dangers.

According to the recommendation of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), it states that an adult man should consume 2.5 liters of water and women should consume 2 liters of water. Excess of this recommendation can cause water intoxication. In other words, it causes a decrease in the salt level in the blood, lung congestion and loss of muscle cells.
