In the epidemic that started in England, 60 children were poisoned by the Kinder branded chocolate they ate. Thereupon, the General Directorate of Food and Control of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry imposed the obligation of Salmonella analysis for Kinder branded products.
So what is Salmonella? What are the symptoms? Where is it found?
Salmonella is a rod-shaped bacterium in the Enterobacteriaceae family. Foodborne infectious food poisoning occurs when the bacterium is taken into the body through food. It is usually transmitted from sick poultry, unpasteurized milk, juice, cheese, foods containing Salmonella and poorly cooked meat, eggs, milk and dairy products etc. Symptoms begin approximately 12- 72 hours after Salmonella is taken into the body. The most obvious symptoms are diarrhea, fever, nausea, vomiting and abdominal cramps.
