Propeller planes, which consume 30 percent less fuel than a conventional jet and cost about one-third, are very suitable for short-haul domestic flights and reduce flight costs. Briefly, a propeller-turbine engine is a propeller propulsion system powered by a jet engine. Thus, while ensuring the jet engine's reliability and performance, the propeller engine's fuel efficiency is utilized. Oil prices are currently very high and are not likely to drop any time soon. Propeller turbines are very profitable for short and low flights. Due to this advantage, this type of aircraft is preferred for regional passenger flights and the demand is increasing with the opening of new regional lines.
Such airline expansion plans will support market growth in the years to come. In particular, a significant expansion of airline propeller turbine flights is foreseen in the coming months. According to aerospace industry research in this area, the turboprop market will grow by more than 2.5 percent per year between 2022 and 2027. During the pandemic, the turboprop market was hit hard by dwindling commercial and general aviation supplies. Deliveries have increased significantly as the industry recovers from the pandemic, at 39 percent in 2021. Some developments will bring stability for several years in both commercial and freight transport. On the other hand, propeller turbine engines became an important development in cargo transportation. Most recently, Textron Aviation has delivered its first aircraft in the aviation industry to its first customer, FedEx Express, after obtaining FAA-type approval for its new twin-engine, high-performance Cessna SkyCourier turboprop.
