Votes will be transported by Turkish Airlines Aircrafts

Within the scope of the 14 May elections, election commissions were established in 73 countries and 156 foreign missions for 3 million 416 thousand 98 voters registered in the foreign electoral roll of the Supreme Election Commission (YSK). Voting abroad ends on May 9. Those who do not vote in their country of residence within the period will be able to vote at the customs gate until May 14. For these voters, 4,671 election commissions were established at customs. Voting continues for 24 hours at 46 customs gates. Following the end of the voting process in foreign missions on May 9, 3 planes will be chartered by THY to bring the votes cast in countries where Turkish citizens live in Europe to Turkey. The departure point of the chartered plane is Istanbul Airport.
According to the statement made by THY and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the planes are moving on the determined route. There is a "diplomatic courier" determined by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a sufficient number of personnel determined by the YSK. The chairman and members of the election transfer board, a diplomatic courier, and other employees board a charter plane at Istanbul Airport. The number of flights, selected landing sites, and routes can be changed as needed. The boxes are delivered to diplomatic couriers together with the report. The ballot boxes are transported to the aircraft cabin by diplomatic courier. In this way, the votes coming to Turkey are transferred to the overseas election commissions under the supervision of the police forces. Representatives of political parties in the governing bodies can also attend the stages as observers. In embassies with many bags, such as New York and Nicosia, 20 kilos are made from each diplomatic bag.
