Trabzon, which has the richest historical and natural beauties among the tourism destinations of the Eastern Black Sea Region, continues to attract Arab visitors from various countries. Although there are direct flights from 12 countries to Trabzon Airport, there are also Persian Gulf countries among them. There were direct flights to Trabzon from Israel, the Turkish Republic of Cyprus TRC and the Persian Gulf countries, but the Qatar Airways plane made its first flight of the season between Doha and Trabzon on 16 June. While those coming from the Persian Gulf countries especially love the plains, a total of 960 thousand local and foreign visitors visited Trabzon last year. About 470,000 of the visitors were foreign tourists, but the majority of the tourists were from Persian Gulf countries. Although 120 thousand local and foreign people came to Trabzon since the beginning of this year, approximately 45 thousand of them were foreign tourists, mainly from the Persian Gulf countries.
Trabzon Culture and Tourism Manager Tamer Erdoğan stated that they expect a 30 percent increase in the number of visitors coming to Trabzon this year compared to last year, and said, "Currently, there are direct flights to Trabzon from 12 countries.
