According to the air traffic statistics of the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL), which took place between 13-19 July, Istanbul Airport became the busiest airport with 1,333 flights, leaving Europe's Paris Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam Schiphol Airports behind. General Directorate of Civil Aviation (SHMG) has published the Comprehensive Evaluation Report of the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL) for the period 13-19 July 2022 on its official website.
According to this published report, Turkey ranked 6th among the countries with the highest traffic volume in Europe, with an average of 3,526 flights per day. In Europe, the traffic volume in the similar period reached 87 percent of the 2019 level with an average of 30 thousand 509 flights per day. Istanbul Airport took the title of being the busiest airport in Europe with an average of 1,333 flights per day, while Antalya Airport ranked 7th with an average of 937 flights per day.
