The company stated that after the attacks on Ukraine by Russia, more than one airline company made flights without visiting Russian airspace, and that it would operate its New York flights over the Atlantic. The longest commercial flight route in the world, which will be realized with this situation, will have a length of 16,668 km.
Cathay Pacific stated that the route is not fully determined at this stage, but that the transatlantic flight path will be just under 9,000 nautical miles. In this context, it means that the flight travel is equivalent to 10,357 miles, or 16,668 kilometers. If the route is approved under these conditions, it will have passed the current world's longest-haul flight of 15,343 km between Singapore and New York and will go down in history.
