Gaziantep's forgotten kutnu fabric dates back to the Ottoman palaces of the 16th century. This valuable fabric, which is the result of weaving silk and cotton together on hand looms, is divided into two as 'kutnu and alaca'. The dominant color of kutnu, which has many varieties such as Mecidiye, hindiye, zencirli, kemha, darcı, sedefli, mekkavi, kurdiye, cutari, rehvancıoglu, sultan, Osmaniye, sedyeli, çiçekli. The golden yellow not only gives color to the fabric, but also provides a natural shine. Red, purple, green, burgundy, pink, blue and black colors are also preferred.
