 Texture Fabric Design Competition


Southeastern Anatolia Textile and Raw Materials Exporters' Association (GATHİB) organization, T.C. With the support of the Ministry of Commerce and the coordination of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), the third of the "Tissue Fabric Design Competition" is held.


Doku Fabric Design Competition is held in 3 categories, open to student and professional participation, in line with a “theme” inspired by the competitors.
 
The deadline for the Tissue Fabric Design Competition, which is organized into 3 different categories as woven fabric, knitted fabric, and printed fabric, is July 5, 2023. The winner of the category receives 225,000 TL, the second prize 150,000 TL, the third prize 75,000 TL, and also the winner of the category receives an overseas education award. The top 5 of each category are awarded the overseas textile and fashion fair visit award and the "Special Sustainability Award" worth 100,000 TL.
 
First, a theme must be determined. A historical subject or period range; current issues or issues that will be important in the future; a concrete object or an abstract concept; Many topics such as environment, pollution, and sustainability can be chosen as the theme. The next step is to design the fabric by considering the theme. Then, there is the stage of preparing the layout to include the theme and the story suitable for your theme. The drawings of the designs and the technical features of the fabric (For example, if the design is made with colored threads on a known fabric, fabric type, thread properties, etc., or if it is a newly designed fabric, technical drawings and simulations showing thread connections, thread properties, etc.) should be placed on the sheet.
Evaluation criteria were determined as “Conformity of Materials and Techniques to Design” 25 points, “Originality” 25 points, “Creativity” 25 points, and “Innovative Value” 25 points.
