Turkish Textile and Raw Materials Exporters' Association (İTHİB) organized the “I of the World” event for the third time in New York on 17-18 January. This event, which was held in the USA, one of the most strategic export markets for the Turkish textile industry, attracted great attention.
“I of the World” is an exhibition organized by İTHİB specifically for the USA. USA's leading apparel manufacturers, designers and textile distributors attended this fair. In the event, Turkey's largest textile companies as well as new companies that want to expand to the USA took part. While it is aimed to increase the market share in the USA with the new connections made at the fair, it is aimed to contribute more to the country's economy with the exports to be made.
The USA ranks 3rd among the countries to which the Turkish textile industry exports the most. The sector exported 866 million dollars in 2022 to the USA, which is its most important target market, and increased its market share from the imports of the USA to over 3 percent. Being the 5th largest textile exporter in the world and the 2nd textile exporter in the EU, the Turkish textile industry aims to be more active in the USA, which is the world's largest textile importer with its imports of 36.3 billion dollars.
