On the morning of February 6, 7.7 and 7.6 earthquakes occurred in 10 provinces, with the epicenter being Kahramanmaraş, causing great destruction. As a result of the earthquake, which caused great destruction and damage, the need for food and clothing, which is one of the most basic needs of humanity, has occurred for many earthquake victims. For the Kahramanmaraş earthquake, the second biggest earthquake of the last century, Istanbul Gelisim University students, staff and academics have been helping the earthquake victims with various support campaigns since the first day. For earthquake survivors who need thick and warm clothes due to the fact that it is winter, the students and Lecturer Şerif Pınar Tunçok of Istanbul Gelisim Vocational School Fashion Design Program produce in the Fashion Design Workshop of Gelisim University from various clothing groups, and the clothes prepared are delivered to the survivors by our university.
Due to the need for more in the winter months, various types of women's and men's sweatpants, children's sweatpants, ponchos, shawls, scarves, gloves and mattresses were produced from various thick knitted fabrics in our fashion workshop. These manufactured products will be delivered to the disaster area as soon as possible.
We would like to thank our professors, students and our university for their unwavering support.
